Chocolate Cornflakes

About this recipe: Cornflakes coated with coconut and chocolate. An easy, lovable treat to make for kids and adults.


Serves: 10 

  • 90g sugar
  • 90g coconut
  • 60g cornflakes
  • 150g plain flour
  • 2 tbsp drinking chocolate
  • 170g margarine, melted
  • For the topping
  • 225g icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp drinking chocolate
  • a few drops of cold water

  1. Crush the cornflakes if you wish and mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add the melted margarine and mix well.
  2. Grease a 20cm (8 inch) square baking tin. Put mixture into the tin and press down firmly.
  3. Pre-heat oven to 190 C and bake in the centre of oven for 20-25 mins.
  4. Leave to cool. Do not turn out of baking tin until it's cool otherwise it will crack.
  5. Mix the icing sugar and drinking chocolate with a few drops of water to make a thick topping.
  6. When cold, spread the topping evenly over the top and put in the fridge to set. When set cut into even squares.
