About this recipe: A simple marinade of garlic and lemon transforms a plain piece of chicken into a super flavourful dish. You may also add the marinade into keema to make burgers instead!


Serves: 4 

  • 4 chicken breast fillets
  • 225ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp degi mirch

  1. Cut 3 slits in each chicken breast. This will allow the marinade to soak in. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper and mirch for about 30 seconds. Place chicken in a large bowl, and pour marinade over. Using your hands, work marinade into chicken. Cover, and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
  2. Pan fry the chicken breasts until they are cooked through. To do that, heat 2 tsp oil in a skillet on medium to high heat. Cook chicken till it's not pink in the center. You may also barbecue, or cook it under the grill.
