masala gojju or curry

    This is a masala curry and can be served with chapati or rice. This can be made with any combination of vegetables. I have used onion , tomato and capsicum for this.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 onions
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 1 small capsicum or bell pepper
    • 1 cup coconut
    • 2 tbsp roasted gram
    • 4 pepper
    • 3 red chillies - dry
    • 1 small bunch corriander leaves
    • 4 tblspn oil
    • 2 cups water
    • 2 tblsp tamrind juice
    • 2 tspn jeera or cumin seeds
    • 1 tspn mustard seeds
    • 1 tspn turmeric powder
    • salt to taste

    1. add oil , jeera, mustard seeds and allow to splutter. add turmeric powder. add onions, capsicum and salt and close the lid
    2. To make the paste: add coconut, 1 tspn jeera, corriander leaves, red chillies, pepper, water, roasted gram and grind to smooth paste.
    3. once the onion is soft and turns golden brown, add tomato. Add the paste, water, tamrind juice and allow to boil for 5 mins.
    4. add salt to taste while boiling. if you want more spicy add red chilli powder and boil. Curry is ready!
