My mom's papaya pachadi

About this recipe: This is a delicious Kerala side dish served at all important functions - like marriage, house warming and all. It is a vegetarian dish.

Ingredients

Serves: 6 

  • 1/2 kilo Papaya, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard
  • 1 cup Grated Coconut
  • 3 tablespoons Curd
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut Oil
  • Salt to taste

Directions

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Cook papaya and a small amount of water and salt in a small pan over medium low flame until tender. Remove from heat and cool.
  2. Meanwhile, grind coconut, mustard and curd together. Add this to cooled papaya. Mix well. Add drops of coconut oil. Dish is ready. Serve with rice.
