    This is an easy daal to make and tastes good with rice or roti.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1/2 cup channa daal
    • 1/4 cup moong chilka daal
    • 1/4 cup urad daal
    • 1 onion finely chopped
    • 1 tomato finely chopped
    • 1 clove garlic minced
    • 1 inch ginger minced
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1tsp coriander powder
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • 2 sprigs coriander leaves
    • 3 tsp lemon juice
    • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
    • salt to taste

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:13min  ›  Ready in:18min 

    1. Soak the daal overnight and cook in a pressure cooker with turmeric and salt for 13 mins.
    2. While the daal is boiling, saute the onions, tomatoes, ginger and garlic till golden brown.
    3. Add the masalas and saute for 1 minute.
    4. Add the above mixture to the boiled daal, add lemon juice, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.


    You can enjoy it with rice or roti and serve it with raita as well !

    All ingredients are available in my kitchen except channa dal.I think i can find it in Indian grocery store.After buying it i want to try it out.  -  06 Nov 2015
