Serves: 4 

  • 250 gms Channa Dal
  • 1 inch Cinamon stick
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 4 small Green Chillies
  • 3 medium finely chopped Onions
  • 1 bunch finely chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1/2 Inch Finely chopped Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep fry

  1. Wash and soak channa dal for 3 hrs. Drain the water completely.
  2. Grind Cinamon, Cumin Seeds, Green Chillies with Channa dal coarsely. The batter should be thick.
  3. Now, transfer the batter into a bowl and add chopped onions, salt and coriander leaves and mix well.
  4. Make equal sized small balls out of the mixture, and pat them on your palm to form a circle to 1/4 inch thickness and deep fry them until golden brown.
