Baked Rui Fish

    If you are tired of eating fish that has been cooked in traditional ways with a lot spices or curry sauce, then this recipe will probably introduce you to a fresh and easy way of cooking fish. The baked fish is delicious by itself, but can be served with plain white pulao.

    Serves: 4 

    • 4 pieces of Rui fish
    • 1/2 of a whole ginger, thinly sliced
    • 1 big garlic, thinly sliced
    • 2 onions, thinly sliced
    • 5-6 green chillies, cut in half along the length
    • 1 tablespoon of lemon extract
    • 2 tablespoons of mustard oil
    • Salt as needed
    • 1 handful of coriander leaves

    1. Mix the Rui fishes with the ginger, garlic, onion and green chilli slices. Mix in the lemon extract, mustard oil, salt and coriander leaves.
    2. Heat a thick tawa (use two tawas on top of each other if they a thick tawa is not available), and while the tawa gets heated, wrap all of the fish pieces in an aluminum foil. Place the fishes in wrapped foil on the heated tawa.
    3. Heat on the tawa for 15-25 minutes.

    Serving suggestion

    Serve with plain pulao.
