Kacha Kolar Bhorta (Green banana mash)


    This is an easy side dish that is really good for digestion.

    • 2 Green bananas
    • 1 teaspoon of mustard oil
    • 1 onion, sliced
    • 2 dry red chilies
    • 2 green chilies
    • A few coriander leaves
    • Salt as needed


    1. Boil the whole bananas in water.
    2. Take the skin out of the boiled bananas.
    3. Mash the boiled bananas in a bowl. Set aside.
    4. Heat a pan with the mustard oil and fry the onions and dry red chilies.
    5. Add the fried onions and dry red chilies to the mashed bananas. Mix the fried ingredients well with the bananas. Also add in the green chilies and fresh coriander leaves.
    6. Don’t forget to sprinkle some salt for taste
    7. Serve with plain hot rice.
