    About this recipe: This is a milk based dessert that is made widely on Eid mornings. People would pray in the morning and start the Eid day by having this sweet dish. It is delicious by itself. However, it can be served with parathas or tortillas.

    Ingredients

    • 250 g of shemai ( vermicilli pasta)
    • 1 kg of milk
    • 2 cardamoms
    • 2 cinnamon sticks
    • 2 cups of sugar
    • 1 tablespoon of raisins and nuts

    Directions

    1. Toast the shemai on a pan for a bit. Wash the toasted shemai with water and set aside.
    2. Heat the milk with cardamoms, cinnamon sticks and sugar. Cook until the milk thickens.
    3. Add the washed shemai and stir and cook for 10 minutes.
    4. Pour on a serving bowl and allow the shemai to cool down.
    5. Sprinkle raisins and nuts.
    6. Serve.
