Momota’s Steamed Banana Cake

    This is a special recipe for a steamed banana cake. It is quite easy to make, and is a great way to utilize bunch of left over bananas.

    • 2 bananas
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 poa of rice flour
    • 1 cup of sugar
    • 3/4 of baking soda
    • Water as needed


    1. Mash the bananas well. Mix egg and sugar and mix again.
    2. Now add the rice flour and baking soda. Make a smooth but thick batter.
    3. Pour a pan half full with water. Tie a small piece of cotton cloth on top of the pan to cover it.
    4. Boil the water until a significant amount of steam comes out.
    5. Pour the batter on the cloth and cover it with another cloth. The batter of the correct consistency will not leak through the cloth.
    6. Steam for 15-20 minutes.
    7. Carefully transfer the cake from the cake on to a plate. Serve!
