250 g of Mishti Kumra (Pumpkin), cut in large pieces
Salt as needed
2 tablespoons of soybean oil
1/2 cup of sliced onions
5 green chillies
1 tablespoon of garlic paste
1 tablespoon of ginger paste
1 tablespoon of onion paste
1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
1/2 cup of tetul (tamarind) chutney
Add 2 cups of water to a pan and boil the pumpkin for 5 minutes. Add half spoon of salt to complete the process. Turn the heat off once the pumpkin has been boiled.
Pour oil in a separate pan. Add the sliced onions and green chillies. Continue to add the garlic, ginger and onion pastes. Stir well. Sprinkle the turmeric powder, salt and add the tamarind chutney and stir it for 5 minutes.
Add the boiled pumkin to the mixture and stir well so that spices are mixed properly. After that put the lid on and keep it heated for 8 minutes.
Take the pot down. MIshti kumrar Dom is now ready to be served.
