Chingri Mach er Bhorta (Shrimp Mash)

    This is really a treat for shrimp lovers. The shrimp is ground with spices to make a delicious mash that tastes great with plan white rice.

    • 250 g of small shrimps
    • 3-4 green chilies, sliced
    • 4-5 dried red chilies
    • 1 medium sized onion, sliced
    • 2-3 cloves of garlic, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon of mustard oil
    • salt as needed
    • 4-5 coriander leaves


    1. Wash the shrimps and drain the water out.
    2. Heat a pan with soybean oil. Fry the shrimps well. Transfer the fried shrimps on to a plate.
    3. Now add the green chilies, dried red chilies, onion and garlic slices to the hot oil and fry the ingredients as well. Set aside.
    4. Grind the fried ingredients excluding the shrimps. Mix in salt as well.
    5. Then grind the shrimps and coriander leaves.
    6. Serve with rice.
