  • 2 cups of soybean oil for deep frying
  • 1/2 cup of onion slices
  • 1/4 teaspoon of powdered cardamoms and cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper powder
  • 1/2 cup of minced chicken
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ginger paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic paste
  • salt as needed
  • 6 bread pieces (square regular)
  • 2 eggs, beaten well


  1. Heat a pan with 3 tablespoons of the soybean oil. Fry the onion slices just slightly.
  2. Add the powdered cardamoms and cinnamon sticks and black pepper powder.
  3. Stir and add the minced chicken, ginger and garlic pastes and salt.
  4. Stir and pour in 1 cup of water and cook until the water dries up and the oil starts to simmer on top. By now the meat should turn dark brown.
  5. Layer two bread pieces on top of each other. Cut the crusts away. Slice diagonally to make a pair of sandwiches.
  6. Take one of the pair on a plate. Remove the top bread piece and spread the minced chicken. Cover with the bread piece.
  7. Heat a deep frying pan or kadai with the rest of the soybean oil.
  8. Now transfer this sandwich carefully in the dish that has the beaten egg. Dip well-the egg will act as a binder.
  9. Deep fry each sandwich until golden brown.
  10. Repeat for the rest of sandwich breads.
  11. Serve with ketchup.
