Sweet Roll

    This is a great sweet food item to have with guests snack in the afternoon. Enjoy with warm tea.

    • 1 cup of grated coconut
    • 50 g of kheer
    • 1 cup of sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder
    • 1 cup of semolina
    • 1 cup of flour
    • water as needed
    • 1/2 cup of liquid milk


    1. Heat a saucepan and add the grated coconut, kheer, half of the sugar and cardamom powder. Stir continuously and mix the mixture on low-medium heat. When the ingredients have mixed well and a flavorful scent of coconut comes out, then take the saucepan off the heat. Set aside.
    2. In a bowl, add the semolina and flour. Mix with a little bit of water. Pour in the milk and rest of the sugar to make a smooth batter. If needed add a bit of water-the consistency should not be thick or too thin.
    3. Grease a frying pan and using a big spoon, pour a portion of the batter to make a pancake. Fry it and set aside on a plate. Repeat to make more pancakes with the rest of the batter.
    4. Now add a portion of the fried coconut with kheer on to each pancake. Roll the pancake from one side to make a “sweet party roll”. Repeat to make more rolls.
    5. It can be served as a dessert for any party or occasions.
