Luchi is an essential food item and you can enjoy it with almost any kind of food. For best experience, serve it warm. I personally love it best with spicy beef curries.

    • 2 tablespoons of ghee
    • salt as needed
    • water as needed
    • 1 cup of flour
    • soybean oil-as needed for deep frying


    1. Mix the ghee, salt, water and flour to make dough. Kneed well and set the dough aside in a bowl by covering it with a lid.
    2. Make small balls out the dough.
    3. Roll each ball out as a medium shaped tortilla, as big as a circle that your palm would make. Repeat to make more “loochis”.
    4. Heat a deep frying pan with soybean oil. Deep fry each loochi until it swells up and be careful that the color does not turn to brown. The frying does not take long, and the color should just be golden.
