Peel the skin of the potatoes. Slice the potatoes in a round shapes.
Make a thick batter of besan, red chilly powder, carom seeds, haldi, salt and water.
Add potato slices in the batter. Mix them up.
Heat a deep frying pan with soybean oil. Make balls with each potato slice covered with the batter. Add the potato ball or potato pakoda in the hot oil. Repeat for the rest of the slices. Fry until the balls swell up and turn brown.
