    Serves: 6 

    • 4 cups udad dal
    • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 1 tablespoon grated coconut
    • salt as needed
    • soybean oil: as needed for deep frying

    1. Soak udad dal for 8 hours. Then grind it to make a fine paste of it.
    2. Add cumin seeds, grated coconut and salt. Make round shape cutlets with dents in the middle.
    3. Heat a deep frying pan with soybean oil. Deep fry the round shaped cutlets.
    4. Serve the medu wada with sambar.
