Medu Wada is a kind of dal and coconut based Indian breakfast food item. It is eaten with sambar. Enjoy!
4 cups udad dal
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon grated coconut
salt as needed
soybean oil: as needed for deep frying

- Soak udad dal for 8 hours. Then grind it to make a fine paste of it.
- Add cumin seeds, grated coconut and salt.
Make round shape cutlets with dents in the middle.
- Heat a deep frying pan with soybean oil. Deep fry the round shaped cutlets.
- Serve the medu wada with sambar.
