About this recipe: Theccha is a chutney like side dish that is primarily made from spicy green chilies and crushed peanuts. It is probably not a good idea to have it by itself, but definitely try out this mouth watering dish with chapati.

Serves: 5 

  • 7 to 8 green chillies
  • 1.5 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 4 tablespoons crushed peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons soybean oil
  • salt as needed

  1. Heat a pan with soybean oil. Add the green chilies and fry for a bit until the chilies turn slightly brown and toasted.
  2. Add cumin seeds and crushed peanuts. Sprinkle salt, stir and mix well.
  3. Grind the ingredients together, and serve the theca with chapati or bhakari.
