About this recipe: This is side dish or bhaji made from besan with hints of cumin seeds and green chilies. It is eaten with chapati or rice.

Serves: 5 

  • 4 cups besan
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon green chili paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon haldi
  • 2 tablespoons soybean oil
  • salt as needed

  1. Mix the besan with water to make batter.
  2. Heat a frying pan with soybean oil. Add cumin seeds, green chili paste and haldi powder. Now add the batter of besan. Sprinkle salt and stir.
  3. Stir and cook until the mixture becomes thick and gravy like.
