Praj's Coconut Chutney

    This coconut chutney can me made to go with idlis. The chutney has a beautiful green color, and has a strong flavor of green chilies along with grated coconut.

    Serves: 5 

    • 2 cups grated coconut
    • 2 green chillies
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 1 teaspoon pudina leaves ( mint leaves)
    • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves
    • 1 teaspoon curry leaves
    • 1/2 teaspoon black salt
    • 2 teaspoons sugar
    • salt as needed

    1. Mix grated coconut, green chillies, cumin seeds, pudding, coriander and curry leaves, black salt and sugar together in a bowl. Mix well, and add salt. Be careful of adding salt, as there are two kinds of salt.
    2. Pour the mixture on to a grinder, and grind on to a powder.
    3. Serve with chapatti.
