Teel ka Chutney ( Sesame Chutney)

    Sesame chutney is a powdery mix of ground sesame seeds, chili powder and sugar. It is eaten with plain chapattis, and are also often added to bhajis and curries for an extra edgy taste.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 cups teel or sesame seeds
    • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
    • 2 teaspoons sugar
    • salt as needed

    1. Heat a pan and toast the teel of sesame seeds for 5 minutes. Take the pan off the heat.
    2. Add red chili powder, sugar and salt to the teel in the pan. Mix with spoon.
    3. Pour the mixture on to a grinder, and grind the ingredients into a powder.
    4. Serve with chapati.
