Dal Rice

    Dal rice is a different form of rice dish than khichadi as the rice and dal are previously cooked. It can be cooked quickly for lunch and served with chutney.

    Serves: 2 

    • 1 tablespoon soybean oil
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 4 to 5 curry leaves
    • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
    • 2 teaspoons red chilly powder
    • 2 cups cooked tur dal
    • Salt as needed
    • 2 cups cooked rice
    • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

    1. Heat a pan with soybean oil. Add cumin, curry leaves, haldi and red chilly powders.
    2. Then add cooked tur dal. Mix it well.Add salt.
    3. Now add cooked rice and mix all the ingredients. Let the rice and dal cook until the water dries to form a thick mixture.
    4. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
