    About this recipe: Halwa is a common south Asian dessert and it is usually made with lentil, semolina and carrots. This recipe is for making Halwa with bottle gourd and the outcome is truly phenomenal.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 2 tablespoons ghee
    • 2 cups peeled and grated lauki ( bottle gourd)
    • 2/3 cup sugar
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon elaychi or cardamom powder
    • as preferred: crushed dryfruits for garnishing

    1. Pour ghee in a non stick pan add lauki and fry it on a low flame until it gets little pink.
    2. Then add sugar to it. Allow sugar to melt- once sugar melts, add milk and elaychi powder and cook for 10 minutes.
    3. Garnish with crushed dry fruits.
