About this recipe: Cut dosas are cut pieces of a dosa with yummy filling. For the filling you can put the vegetables according to your taste, but I personally prefer the presence of onions, chillies and potatoes. Enjoy this with your favorite chutney.

Serves: 4 

  • 4 cups rice
  • 2 tablespoons poha
  • 2 cups udad dal
  • 3 teaspoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon haldi
  • 2 peeled and chopped potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon grated coconut

  1. Soak rice, poha and dal for 8 hours. After that make a fine paste of the ingredients and keep the mixture in a moist place for 4 hours to get fermented.
  2. Take a tawa and heat it on a medium flame. Add 1 teaspoon of oil on the tawa.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the fermented paste on the tawa and cook it until it rises and turns light brown.
  4. Take 2 teaspoons of oil in a separate pan, add cumin seeds and onions and fry it until it gets pink.
  5. Add green chilies, haldi and chopped boiled potatoes. Mix well.
  6. Spread this fried mixture along with some red chili powder and grated coconut on to the dosa. Roll the dosa.
  7. Cut the roll in small round pieces. Serve with chutney.
