About this recipe: Rajma is a very healthy dish. The wholesome beans taste great when mixed with the spices. Enjoy it warm.

Serves: 2 

  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 2 tablespoons chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cream
  • 2 tablespoons soybean oil
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon haldi (turmeric) powder
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala powder
  • salt as needed
  • 1 cup boiled rajma (kidney beans)
  • 1/2 cup dry grated coconut
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds

  1. To make gravy for rajama: Grind onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves and garlic paste. Mix the grinded paste with fresh cream.
  2. Heat a pan with soybean oil, and add this paste. Stir and fry until the paste turns brown.
  3. Now add red chili, haldi and garam masala powders and salt. Mix well and add the rajma (kidney beans).
  4. Stir and cook for 5 minutes and serve with rice. Garnish with grated coconut and cumin seeds.
