Shev bhaji

    Shevs are made from fried morsels of chickpea and rice flours. This recipe is a great way of cooking shevs into a spicy stir fry that tastes and smells fabulous as a snack.

    Serves: 2 

    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
    • 2 tablespoons chopped onions
    • 1 teaspoon haldi (turmeric) powder
    • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
    • salt as needed
    • 1 tablespoon besan powder
    • 2 cups water
    • 1 cup shev

    1. Heat a pan with oil, add cumin seeds, garlic and onions. Stir and fry until the ingredients turn brown.
    2. Then add haldi and red chili powder, salt and besan. Mix.
    3. Now add water, stir and boil for 2 minutes.
    4. Sprinkle shev at the time of serving.
