Black Dal

    Black dal stands out from the rest in the sense that it has the essence of raw green chilli and coconut garlic paste. The resulting food is a very soothing spicy soup that tastes great on its own. Enjoy.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 cups black dal
    • 3 tablespoons soybean oil
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 2 tablespoons coconut garlic paste
    • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
    • 2 teaspoons green chili paste
    • 5 tablespoons water
    • salt as needed

    1. Boil black dal in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes. Heat a pan with soybean oil, add cumin seeds, coconut garlic paste and haldi. Stir the ingredients well and add green chili paste. Stir and mix.
    2. Add the black dal and add a little bit of water, around 5 tablespoons and season with salt. Stir and boil for 5 minutes.
