Sprout Daal

    Daal itself is very comforting to the stomach. Sprout daal is even more comforting as it helps with digestion. Serve with plain rice or chapattis.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 cups sprouts
    • 2 chopped onions
    • 1 chopped 1 chopped tomato
    • 2 teaspoons grated coconut
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 1 teaspoon haldi (turmeric) powder
    • 2 teaspoons red chilie powder
    • 2 teaspoons garam masala
    • 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
    • 1 cup water
    • salt as needed

    1. Boil sprouts in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes.
    2. Then make fine paste of onions, tomatoes and coconut. Heat a pan with soybean oil, add cumin seeds, onions, tomatoes and coconut paste. Fry it for 5 minutes.
    3. Then add red chili, haldi and garam masala powders and ginger garlic paste. Mix well.
    4. Now add cooked sprouts to the pan, along with water. Add salt and boil for 5 minutes.
