About this recipe: This is a dish with seasoned besan balls and gravy consisting of grated coconut and onions. Serve with rice and or chapattis.

  • 1 cup besan
  • 3 teaspoons red chilly powder
  • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
  • Salt as needed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons grated coconut
  • 3 tablespoons chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves

  1. Take besan in a plate, add red chilly powder, haldi powder, salt add 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Mix and make a thick dough of it using water.
  2. Now make small flat round shaped balls of the mixture.
  3. Heat a tawa with oil, toast coconut and onions until brown. Pour this mixture in a mixture grinder, add ginger garlic paste and grind to make a paste out of these ingredients.
  4. Heat a pan with the oil, add cumin seeds, stir and the ground paste. Fry for 5 minutes, then add red chilly, haldi powder and garam masala powders.
  5. Finally add the besan balls, salt and water. Cook until the balls turn brown. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
