About this recipe: Batata bhaji is another form of potato bhaji which consists of a particular kind of small pebble shaped potatoes. Serve with chapattis or rotis.

Serves: 1 

  • 5 to 7 small boiled and peeled potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons haldi powder
  • as needed salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2 teaspoons red chilly powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • As preferred coriander leaves for garnishing

  1. Grease the potatoes with oil, and mix in a few pinches of haldi and red chilly powder.
  2. Heat a pan with oil, add cumin seeds. Then add the potatoes.
  3. Sprinkle garam masala, red chilly, haldi and cumin powders and salt. Stir and mix.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves.
