About this recipe: This is sort of like a thick coconut based soup that is spicy and is usually served as a side dish with rice or chapattis.

Serves: 3 

  • 1 cup grated dry coconut
  • 1 tablespoon crushed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
  • salt as needed
  • ½ cup water

  1. Grind grated coconut and garlic cloves in a mixture grinder.
  2. Heat a pan with oil, add cumin seeds, red chili and haldi powders. Stir and add the garlic-coconut paste.
  3. Then add salt and water. Boil for 5 to 10 minutes.
