Rava besan ladoo

    This is a must dessert item for Maharashtrian Diwali. Enjoy these slightly crunchy and sweet besan and semolina (rava) flavored laddoos.

    Serves: 3 

    • 2 tablespoons ghee
    • 10 cashew nuts, chopped
    • 10 blanched almonds, chopped
    • 1 cup rava (semolina)
    • 1/2 cup grated besan
    • 3/4 cup sugar powder
    • 2 cups milk
    • 1 teaspoon elaychi or cardamom powder

    1. Heat a thick bottomed tawa with 1 tablespoon of ghee. Toast the cashews and almonds. Set aside.
    2. Add 1/2 tablespoon of ghee to the tawa. Add rava and roast it until gets just a little brown. Set it aside.
    3. Clean up the tawa and add the rest of the ghee. Add the besan and roast it until light brown. Set aside.
    4. Pour the besan and rava in a bowl. Mix well with sugar, milk and cardamom powder.
    5. Now add the toasted nuts. Mix again and form round shaped laddoos.
