Palak Pakoda

    Palak pakoda is an easy way to make your little ones snack onto something healthy like spinach. The pakodas also made during diwali in Maharashtra as well. Serve these crunchy pakodas with chutney or sauce.

    Serves: 3 

    • 1 cup palak(spinach)
    • 1 cup besan
    • 1 teaspoon carom seeds
    • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin seeds
    • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
    • Salt as needed
    • ½ cup water
    • Vegetable oil for deep frying

    1. Chop spinach leaves and mix with besan. Now add carom seeds, cumin seeds and red chili powder.
    2. Mix and add salt and water to make a slightly thick batter.
    3. Heat a kadhai or a thick bottomed deep frying pan with vegetable oil. Add small balls of the batter and deep fry the balls until light brown.
    4. Serve the palak pakodas with chutney or sauce.
