Boil chana dal with 1 cup water in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes until the dal gets soft.
Now grind this dal smoothly.
Heat a pan with 1/2 tablespoon of ghee, add this dal and jaggary. Stir and mix well until jaggery gets dissolved completely.
Set this mixture aside.
Make dough out of wheat flour, elaychi powder and water.
Make small dough balls out of the dough. Make a small indent in each dough ball and fill it with the dal mixture. Cover the indent with the dough and make it into a ball again. Repeat for the rest of the dough balls.
Roll out each dough ball into medium sized chapattis.
Heat a tawa with ghee. Roast the chapattis and puran poli is now ready to be served with chutneys.
