About this recipe: These are deep fried sweetened bread made from wheat flour and sweet potatoes. Enjoy the puryas by themselves.

Serves: 3 

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 cup boiled crushed sweet potatoes
  • ½ cup jaggery
  • ½ teaspoon elaychi (cardamom) powder
  • 2-3 cups ghee for deep frying

  1. Mix wheat flour, sweet potatoes, jaggery and elaychi powder. Make dough.
  2. Now make small dough balls. Roll the balls into medium shaped puris.
  3. Heat a deep frying pan or kadhai with ghee. Deep fry the puris until golden brown.
