    About this recipe: This is a kokam or gamboges and cocounut based drink from the Konkar area in India. It is slightly sweet, spicy and sour. It is great as an appetizer and as a cool digestive drink.

    Serves: 2 

    • 3 to 4 kokam (gamboges)
    • Water as needed
    • 2 cups coconut milk
    • ½ teaspoon red chili powder
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • Salt for taste

    1. Soak kokam in 2 tablespoons of water for 3 to 4 hours.
    2. Now grind this soaked kokam in a grinder and make a fine paste.
    3. Add this paste to coconut wate. Mix and add red chili powder.
    4. Add salt and sugar. Mix well and serve chilled.
