Arbi masala

    This is a dish made from common vegetable in India, known as arbi or taro. The arbi slices are seasoned with grated coconut and garam masala. Serve with chapatti or rice.

    Serves: 2 

    • 1 tablespoon grated coconut
    • ½ tablespoon garlic paste
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
    • ½ teaspoon haldi powder
    • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
    • 1 cup sliced arbi (colocasia)
    • Salt as needed

    1. Steam the arbi slices in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes.
    2. Meanwhile, mix grated coconut and garlic paste. Set aside.
    3. Heat a pan with oil. Add cumin seeds and coconut garlic paste. Stir and mix well.
    4. Then add cumin seeds, red chili powder, haldi powder and garam masala powder. Stir and mix.
    5. At last add arbi slices and salt. Cook for 10 minutes.
