Newyork Cheese Cake


    This very easy and tasty recipe will delight everyone

    • 175 gm digestive biscuits
    • 85 gm butter
    • 3 eggs
    • 85 gm caster sugar
    • 340 gm cream cheese or curd cheese
    • 150 ml double cream
    • juice of 1 lemon
    • 1 tablespoon cornflour


    1. Pre-heat the oven at 150 degree Celsius until after the third step.
    2. Break the digestive biscuits into a big plastic bag.Roll a rolling pin over the bag to crush the biscuits into crumbs.
    3. Melt the butter in a pan over a low heat.Turn off the heat, then stir the biscuits into the butter.
    4. Turn of the oven.Grease the cake tin.Tip the biscuit crumbs into it and press them down firmly with a spoon.
    5. Bake the biscuit base for 20 minutes.Meanwhile, separate the eggs into 2 different bowls.
    6. Beat together the cheese and the egg yolks.Stir in the sugar, cream, lemon juice and cornflour.
    7. Then in a separate bowl, whisk the egg white until they are firm and form peaks.It may take some time.
    8. Add them to the cheese mixture.Then turn them over gently with a metal spoon until they are mixed in.
    9. Pour the mixture onto the biscuit base and smooth it level.Then, put it in the oven and bake it for 50 to 55 minutes
