Urad wada

    Wadas constitute Maharashtrian fast food, especially street food. Enjoy this urad or white lentil wada with chutneys.

    Serves: 5 

    • 2 cups urad dal (white lentil)
    • Salt as needed
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 1 teaspoon green chilli paste
    • Vegetable oil for deep frying

    1. Soak urad dal in 4 cups of water for 6 to 7 hours. Drain off all the water.
    2. Now grind it in a mixture grinder with salt, cumin seeds and green chilli paste. Now make small balls out of it and slightly flatten each ball by pressing it.
    3. Heat a deep frying pan with oil. Deep fry the wadas.
