About this recipe: This is a Goan food, and is made from semolina flavored with wonderful spices. Enjoy it warm.

Serves: 3 

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups rava (semolina)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onions
  • 2 to 3 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal (white lentil)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped green chillies
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Water as needed
  • Salt as needed

  1. Heat a tawa with 1 tablespoon of oil. Roast rava in the oil. Set aside the roasted rava.
  2. Now heat a frying pan with rest of the oil. Add cumin seeds, chopped onions and curry leaves. Fry for 2 minutes.
  3. Then add urad dal, green chillies, red chilli powder and lemon juice. Stir and mix. Add 2 cups of water and then add roasted rava. Add salt and mix well.
  4. Cook for 3 minutes.
