Naral bhat

    Naral bhat or coconut rice is a favorite amongst Maharashtrians. Serve it warm with curries and chutneys.

    Serves: 2 

    • 1 tablespoon ghee
    • 3 to 4 cloves
    • 1 cup grated coconut
    • 2 cups cooked basmati rice
    • 1 cup sugar syrup
    • 1 teaspoon saffron soaked in 1 tablespoon of water
    • 1 tablespoon chopped cashew nuts

    1. Heat a pan with ghee. Add cloves and fry just for a bit. Then add coconut and cooked rice.
    2. Stir and mix. Now add sugar syrup and saffron.
    3. At last add cashew nuts. Stir and mix in the ingredients.
    4. Serve hot.
