About this recipe:
This is a diwali special puri item, a flour based flat bread that has been deep fried. Enjoy warm with chutney.
½ cup ghee
Salt as needed
½ teaspoon carom seeds
½ teaspoon roasted cumin seeds
2 cups maida (all purpose flour)
Vegetable oil for frying
- Beat ghee and salt in a bowl. Then add carom seeds, cumin seeds and maida. Continue to mix and then form dough. Use little water if needed.
- Make small dough balls.
- Roll out each dough balls into medium sized tortillas or puris.
- Heat a deep frying kadhai with oil. Deep fry the puris until they become fluffy and golden brown.
