About this recipe: This is a true comfort food made from thickened milk with delicious grated bottle gourd dipped in. Enjoy it warm or chilled.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 litre milk
  • 2 cups grated lauki (bottle gourd)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon elaychi (cardamom) powder

  1. Boil milk in a saucepan. When bubbles start to form, add lauki a little at a time while stirring continuously. Add all the lauki over a time period of 15 minutes while stirring the milk.
  2. Then mix in sugar and elayachi powder. Stir and again boil for 5 minutes. Serve warm or chilled.
