About this recipe: This is raw banana kofta curry, that is perfect for special occasions, like parties. Serve with white pulav.

Serves: 4 

  • 2 unripe bananas, boiled and mashed
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon chopped green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon maida (all purpose flour)
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying
  • Ingredients for curry
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • ½ cup tomato puree
  • ½ cup onion puree
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

  1. Mix all the ingredients for kofta, excluding the vegetable oil, and make small balls out of the mixture.
  2. Heat a deep frying kadhai with vegetable oil. Deep fry the balls. Set aside the kofta balls.
  3. Now heat a frying pan with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste, tomato puree and onion puree. Stir and mix.
  4. Fry for 5 minutes.
  5. Then add red chili powder and garam masala powder. Stir and mix, and add the fried koftas. Mix the gravy sauce with the koftas and cook for 2 minutes.
