About this recipe: This is garlic rich spinach dish, a favorite for spinach lover. Serve with steaming rice, and toasted red chilies.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
  • 1 cup chopped palak (spinach)
  • 2 cups palak (spinach) paste
  • Salt as needed

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

  1. Heat a pan with vegetable oil. Add cumin seeds and chopped garlic, onions and tomatoes. Stir and fry. Then add red chili powder, garam masala powder and haldi powder. Stir and mix.
  2. Then add chopped palak and palak paste. Stir and add salt. Cook for 5 minutes.

I couldn't quite figure out how to make the spinach paste, so I just used a lot of whole spinach. It turned out fine and was very tasty. I will definitely be making this again! - 22 Aug 2016
