Arbi che koft curry

    This is arbi ( colocasia) kofta based curry. It is great as a side dish for parties. Serve with white pulav or biryani rice.

    Serves: 5 

    • For kofta
    • 3 cups arbi (colocasia) slices, boiled, peeled and mashed
    • 2 boiled, peeled and mashed potatoes
    • 1 teaspoon chopped green chilies
    • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
    • 2 teaspoons garam masala powder
    • 1 cup corn flour
    • Vegetable oil for deep frying
    • For gravy
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
    • ½ cup tomato puree
    • ½ cup onion puree
    • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

    1. Mix all the ingredients for kofta, excluding the vegetable oil, and make small balls out of the mixture.
    2. Heat a deep frying pan with oil. Deep fry the koftas. Set aside the fried koftas.
    3. Now heat a frying pan with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste, tomato puree and onion puree. Stir and mix. Fry for 3-4 minutes.
    4. Then add red chili powder and garam masala powder. Stir and mix, and add the fried koftas. Mix the gravy sauce with the koftas and cook for 2 minutes.
