Chana palak

    This is gravy dish of chana dal (chickpeas) and palak (spinach). This is a great mix, my favorite. Serve with rice or chapattis.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 3 

    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
    • 1 teaspoon green chili paste
    • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
    • 2 tablespoons chopped onions
    • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
    • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
    • Salt as needed
    • 2 cups boiled chana dal (chickpeas)
    • 1 cup chopped palak (spinach)

    1. Heat a pan with vegetable oil. Add cumin and mustard seeds. Then add green chili paste, garlic and onions. Stir and fry.
    2. Then add garam masala powder, red chili powder and haldi powder. Stir and mix. Then add salt, chana dal and chopped palak. Stir and cook for 10-15 minutes until the leaves have wilted and the dal has been seasoned well.
