Gobi Gosht ( Cabbage-Beef Curry)

    This is a delicious mix of beef and cabbage. Serve warm with pulav or fried rice.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 5 

    • 1 kg beef cubes
    • 1.5 cups onion slices
    • 1/2 tablespoon garlic paste
    • 1 cabbage, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
    • 1/2 tablespoon cumin paste
    • 1 tablespoon onion paste
    • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
    • Salt as needed
    • 1/2 cup ghee

    Directions

    1. Heat a saucepan with ghee. Fry the onions.
    2. When the onions turn golden, add garlic, ginger, cumin and onion pastes. Stir and add turmeric and red chili powders. Add the meat cubes.
    3. Cook until the water released dries up to form thick gravy. By now the meat should be half cooked. Add 1-1.5 cups of water.
    4. When the meat is almost cooked, add the cabbage slices. Turn the heat down. Cook on low heat until the meat is completely cooked and the cabbage slices are tender and soft.
    5. Sprinkle the cumin powder salt. Mix, simmer for 2 minutes and serve.
