Chingri-Korolla ( Shrimps-Bitter Gourd Fry)

    This is a great way to feed your little ones bitter gourd, as the addition of shrimps really makes the dish delicious. It is simple to cook and does not take up much time. Serve with plain rice.

    Serves: 5 

    • 1/2 cup soybean oil
    • 1 cup onion slices
    • 250 g small sized shrimps
    • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon cumin power
    • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
    • 250 g korolla/bitter gourd slices
    • 200 g aloo/potato slices
    • 1 cup water
    • Salt as needed

    1. Heat a kadhai/korai with oil. Add the onions and fry. Add the shrimps, stir and add red chilli, turmeric, cumin and coriander powders.
    2. Stir and cook until the water released dries up a bit. Add the bitter gourd slices and potatoes.
    3. Add water and salt and cook with lid on.
    4. Cook until the water dries up completely. Stir and serve.
