Tomato mint chutney

    this chutney suites good with idly,dosa. Due to its tangy taste children likes to have this.

    • tomato 6 to 7 nos.
    • mint leaves 1 bunch of hand
    • coriander leaves little bit.
    • green chilly 1 no
    • red chilly 2 no
    • bengal gram 1 tbsp
    • urud dal 1 tbsp
    • hing 1 pinch.
    • for seasoning mustard seeds,curry leaves.
    • oil as required
    • salt to taste.


    1. Cut tomato into pieces.
    2. wash the mint leaves, coriander leaves & keep it aside.
    3. now add some oil in a pan and add urud dal and bengal gram and fry for 1 min in a sim flame.
    4. Now add red chillies,green chillies, pinch of hing and fry for few min.
    5. At this stage add tomato pcs and fry for some time till tomato get mashed.
    6. Now add mint leaves and coriander leaves with tomato and mix it well.
    7. add salt to taste and mix for 2 min. allow it to cool to reach room temperature & transfer all the ingredients to mixer jar. grind finely in minimum speed
    8. the chutney is ready transfer it into a clean bowl.
    9. In a little pan pour some oil for seasoning and add mustard seeds add curry leaves and transfer the seasoning to chutney bowl
    10. Now Tangy tomato mint chutney is ready to serve.
